The entire garden spans five metres by six and was originally entirely covered by concrete slabs. The brief was to create a dining space and build a playhouse with some screening for privacy.

The slabs were lifted and broken to build the seat, with the cracked raw edges outermost. then a seat was constructed with radial slats and a cut log seat back.

A new raised bed behind the seat brings plants to head height for a close examination of flowers and scents. The paving was tiny brick setts laid concentrically, but with the outer edges weaving from one circle to the next.

A circular table is interchangeable with a fire pit. The circle allows a good depth of beds into the corners to allow mature planting for screening. A bespoke playhouse is hidden within the lilac.
